Metallurgica San Marco, operating as an energy-intensive company, encountered a pivotal challenge: navigating the alignment of its business operations with environmental responsibility. It became imperative to find a solution that not only diminished its carbon footprint but also seamlessly integrated with its core business objectives and values.
The environmental degradation in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region provided a compelling context, underscoring the pressing urgency for MSM to proactively address its environmental impact. MSM selected us as a partner in a groundbreaking reforestation project in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at offsetting non-reducible CO2 emissions.

Solution
In response to this dual challenge — aligning business interests with environmental responsibility — MSM selected us as a partner in a groundbreaking reforestation project in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at offsetting non-reducible CO2 emissions.
This strategic initiative involved building a network of expertise, bringing together the State Forest Corps, specialized agronomists, and local population. The goal was not just to offset carbon emissions but also to contribute to the ecological and social well-being of the region.
Results
The rejuvenation of the Issyk-Kul region’s ecosystem unfolded through the strategic planting of diverse plant species, fostering an optimal habitat for a range of animal species. Importantly, the initiative actively engaged the local community, creating a positive social impact and establishing a sustainable model for future endeavors.
